  • I MOVED

As of this afternoon, I am completely moved in. That’s right. ZERO boxes left. It only took 24 hours to take a completely blank canvas and turn it into my dream apartment. Im so thankful for all the help I had from my family on move in day. I mean who moves on Easter…only me. While I am still waiting on things to be delivered I want to give you a little peek into the vibe of my little piece of heaven. My living room has the most amazing natural lighting. The wall is essentially all windows….A Selfie Queen’s DREAM. I wanted to keep the colors light and bright especially going into spring. Cozy Glam, like pizza and champagne.

As for the bedroom I wanted it to feel masculine yet elegant…hence the strong blue wall. I love the contrast the uber girly bedding creates against the bold wall. Honestly it turned out better than I could have dreamed. The mirrored nightstands tie it all together…thanks to Patrick (my incredible father) who surprised me with them.

As soon as the final pieces of furniture arrive, I will do a FULL post on every detail including where I found everything. Let me know what you think so far!!

    xoxo,

  • Bumbling for a babe

This is a little something different from my typical TPB posts but it is F U N. In the past week I have helped several girlfriends create Bumble accounts. If you didn’t know, I swiped right on my total babe of a boyfriend a little over a year ago. Online dating is rough but let me tell you having a good profile attracts the right guys.

    How to attract the BABE.

Online dating is 100% superficial. Your profile is everything. And while the bio is important, your picture selection is VITAL. Six snap shots of your life are your entire impression. So how do you pick the right pictures?? Make sure you are choosing photos that are authentically you. The first one should always be of your gorgeous face… no group pictures please. No one wants to guess who they are talking to. I also think the first picture should be a genuine smile with N O snapchat filter.

The rest of the pictures are a showcase of your life. If I was single and mingling, here is what I would choose:

The order is important… don’t use six selfies. Two are sufficient. Use the other four to showcase your hobbies, family, friends, or your pup (everyone loves a pup). Make sure to have at least one full body shot.

    BIO

Make your bio short and unique. Saying you like food and music is like saying you have a face and eyeballs. Have fun with it. Include your real hobbies…watching Planet Blue in your underwear seven days a week doesn’t make you an adventurer with a love of the outdoors.

    COMMUNICATION

On Bumble, the girl has to talk first. Unlike Tinder, your inbox wont be filled with creepy pick up lines. In my opinion it gives you more freedom to swipe because you know he can’t talk unless you do. However, you only have 24 hours to slide into their inbox so move quickly. Confession: I didn’t message Boyfriend first…he extended our connection so I would take the hint. Thank god it worked. You don’t have to have the worlds most creative pick up line if that’s not your style. Just be yourself. No pressure. Say hi.

    HAVE FUN

The best part about online dating? They are looking at the hottest version of you while you could be in a face mask in bed with greasy hair. It’s the best. While there are super amazing guys swiping away, there are also total d bags. Let me know your WORST online dating experience. Maybe I will expose all the screen shots from my tinder days.

    Happy Swiping

  • Cardio for maintaining muscle mass

Cardio. It’s 110% required if you want to be a well rounded athlete or if you just would like to have a healthy heart. Listen, I have a less than stellar relationship with cardio. Honestly, I totally hate (most) cardio.
My issue with cardio is, if done to often or for too long, burns MUSCLE not fat.
I sincerely hope that wasn’t earth shattering for you. If it was, I’m so sorry but the good news is you don’t have to spend hours running or on the stair master. You’re welcome.

If you start burning muscle…you are slowing your metabolism and burning LESS calories at rest. Gross. So counter productive and I know you don’t have time for that. Plus gaining muscle is H A R D and you want to keep what you worked hard for.
“So Katie, how do you burn fat and keep muscle?”
GIRL IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED. Shorter cardio sessions with higher intensity. Personally, I do HIIT, rhythmic cycle classes and the stair master. All three have a focus on sculpting the booty and legs while increasing the heart rate. WIN WIN.
HIIT is essentially the FREE workouts I post for you. I hit the biggest muscle groups with compound movements traditionally used for strength building. When done in a circuit, at a fast tempo it’s cardio. SIGN ME UP
Rhythmic Cycle is BOMB because you can drop it low like your a shot girl at the club. It’s typically 45 minutes which is the LONGEST amount of time I will do cardio. Like HIIT, your instructor tricks you into doing intervals of climbs and sprints with Cardi B blasting through you soul.
Last, and purposely  least, the stupid effing stair master. I max out at 25 minutes. I hate it. It’s the worst. BUT it works your BUTT. It make it tolerable I do sprints. I will pick a goal. Example: 150 flights in 25 minutes. That equals about 6 flights a minute. It sucks but the time flies.
If you follow me on Insta you have probably seen a story or 30493 of me on the stair master. My goal is to complete 25 minutes 5 times a week until my 25th birthday. I hate to admit it, but GIRL it is making me shed F A T. Try it with me. Let me know how many flights your getting in 25 minutes. Lets challenge each other.
Okay, I have to go workout.
    I love you

  • Wrinkle Free and Feeling forever 23

    Collagen.

I have talked about collagen for YEARS and it’s too important to not write a full blow post about it. To be honest, I started using collagen for superficial reasons. When I learned our bodies stop producing collagen at TWENTY I lost it. But it totally makes sense right?? Those little lines and aches and pains start in your mid-twenties…. HELLO it’s because you are metabolizing collagen as you read this.

Collagen is a must for anyone who has joints, tendons and ligaments… aka EVERYONE. I am not kidding when I say its  a GAME CHANGER. If you didn’t know, I have rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Im super fortunate to not have to take meds anymore…but aches and pains were a staple in my life until collagen. I can squat my body weight and not have joint pain the next day. That is HUGE. On heavy lifting days I double up on my collagen and recover so much faster. Im far less sore meaning I can bounce back twice as fast.

Whenever I add a new potion to my daily routine, momma rolls her eyes…except for collagen. She noticed a major difference in her skin right away. Funny story, Colleen was drinking her collagen before bed consistently until she had a business trip for work and forgot to take it with her. Ugh. Five days later she came home looking like a sad balloon that fell behind the couch after a 3 year olds birthday party. She just didn’t have that collagen glow anymore. It was all the proof she needed that it was truly making a difference.

I swear the magical powder just fills in those tiny lines making you look and feel forever 24. (THANK GOD) My hair and nails have been growing like CRAZY since discovering my best kept secret. Convinced yet?

If not, get this… a serving has 18g of PROTEIN. Two scoops of collagen and you are hitting those protein macros with ease. Im telling you, out of all the sups I take on the daily, collagen is my ride or die.

Here is the deal, the powder claims to be unflavored..and they totally did their best but it kind of tastes like a vitamin capsule. BUT if you mix it with BCAAs or Magnesium powder it truly is tasteless. Plus your getting the additional benefit of whatever you choose to add. Two birds, one drink. Genus.

Also…this is TOTALLY not a sponsored post. This is 100% raw and real. I live and die for my peptides.

Try them and see for yourself!
